The Art of Storytelling
The production arm of Harlem Royalty Studios was founded by brothers Jamel and LaVonte Robinson as an extension of the visual and narrative work they created to shape Jamel’s career. What began with in-house filmmaking—documenting the studio practice, capturing exhibitions, directing avant-garde shorts, and producing commercial content for their fashion line, The Brilliant Few—has evolved into a full-scale production offering now open to artists and institutions alike.
Using their SONY A7 IV and a stripped-down approach rooted in story, the Robinsons direct, shoot, edit, score, color, and mix every project themselves. Whether capturing artists in their studios, documenting talks and openings, or composing films that blur the line between fine art and cinema, Harlem Royalty Studios creates work that lives at the intersection of truth, vision, and craft.
